Motorbike/Scooter
The most common way to reach Nam Xay Viewpoint from Vang Vieng is by renting a motorbike. Several rental shops are available in town, typically costing between $6-8 USD per day. From Vang Vieng, cross the Namsong Bridge (crossing fee of $0.50 USD). Follow the signs for Blue Lagoon 1; just before arriving at the lagoon, turn left onto the dirt path leading to the viewpoint. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Parking is available at the base of the trail.
Tuk-tuk/Taxi
Alternatively, hire a tuk-tuk or taxi for a return trip from Vang Vieng. Negotiate the price beforehand; expect to pay around 100,000 LAK (approximately $10 USD) for the return journey, with the driver waiting while you hike. This option avoids the need to navigate the dirt roads yourself.
