Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Phonsavan, where the main market is located. Head southeast on Route 7, which is also known as the main road. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the 'Plain of Jars' site. At this intersection, turn left and follow the road for another 2 kilometers. You will see signs indicating the direction to Tham Nam Water Cave. Once you approach the entrance, there will be a small trail leading to the cave entrance on your right.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Phonsavan. Begin your journey by cycling southeast along Route 7. Follow this road for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the road leading towards the 'Plain of Jars.' Turn left at the intersection and continue cycling for about 2 kilometers. Look for directional signs to Tham Nam Water Cave. There will be a trail leading to the cave entrance on your right as you get closer.
