From Pha That Luang, Wat That Luang Neua is a short walk to the North. Head north from the main entrance of Pha That Luang, and the temple will be visible within the complex grounds. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. No entrance fee is required for the outer grounds.

The main temple building has statues of the standing Buddha at its entrance and elaborate golden stencil work on the front gable. Inside, colorful murals depict scenes from the Buddha's life.The temple grounds feature large golden statues, including a famous reclining Buddha. A Bodhi tree, believed to be a descendant of the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, where Buddha achieved enlightenment, is surrounded by smaller golden Buddha statues in various poses, each with specific meanings. Wat That Luang Neua is the residence of the supreme patriarch of Laos Buddhism. The temple's architecture showcases an ornate front facade and a multi-tiered roof.
