Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Pakse. Head north on Route 13 for about 10 km until you reach the junction with Route 16. Turn left onto Route 16 and continue for approximately 25 km. Watch for signs towards Ban Hmong. After 15 km, take a right turn at the sign for Big Tree Cafe. Follow the road for another 2 km, and you will find the cafe on your left.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From Pakse, take a bus heading towards Savannakhet. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Ban Hmong. The bus fare is approximately 30,000 LAK. Once you are dropped off, you will need to walk about 2 km along the road until you reach Big Tree Cafe, which will be on your left.

• Tuk-Tuk

  If you prefer a tuk-tuk, you can hire one from Pakse to take you directly to Big Tree Cafe. Negotiate the fare with the driver before starting your journey. The cost should be around 150,000 LAK for a one-way trip. The ride will take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Pakse. Head north on Route 13, then turn left onto Route 16. It’s about a 35 km ride to Big Tree Cafe, so allow for approximately 2 to 3 hours of cycling, depending on your pace. Bring water and snacks, as there are limited stops along the way.
