    Motorbike/Scooter

    The most common way to reach Nam Xay Viewpoint from Vang Vieng is by renting a motorbike. Rental shops are abundant in town, with prices ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 LAK per day. Head west from Vang Vieng, crossing the Namsong Bridge (toll: 3,000 LAK per motorbike). Follow the signs for Blue Lagoon 1; before arriving, turn left onto the dirt path leading to Nam Xay. The ride takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Parking is available near the trailhead.

    Tuk-tuk

    Alternatively, hire a tuk-tuk for a round trip to Nam Xay Viewpoint. Negotiate the price beforehand; expect to pay around 100,000 to 600,000 LAK for the return journey, including waiting time. The tuk-tuk will drop you off at the parking area near the trailhead. Note that the tuk-tuk may not cross the Namsong Bridge, so confirm this with the driver beforehand. If the tuk-tuk does not cross the bridge, you will not have to pay the Namsong Bridge fee.

    Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, as the trail can be steep, rocky, and slippery, especially during the rainy season.
    Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated during the hike, especially in the hot and humid climate.
    Visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the heat and crowds, and to enjoy the sunrise or sunset views.
    Bring a flashlight or headlamp if you plan to hike close to sunset, as the trail can become dangerous in the dark.
