Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from Daugavpils, which is the closest major city. Take the A6 highway north towards Rēzekne. After about 15 kilometers, take the exit towards Naujene. Follow the signs for Naujene parish. After approximately 10 kilometers, turn right onto the road leading to Vecpils. Continue for about 5 kilometers, and you will reach Daugavas loki, located just outside the village of Vecpils. Note that there may be parking available near the scenic area, but check local signage for any parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Daugavas loki using public transportation, take a bus from Daugavpils to Naujene. Buses depart regularly from the Daugavpils bus station, and the journey lasts about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Naujene, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local shuttle service to Vecpils, as the scenic spot is about 5 kilometers from Naujene. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited in the evenings and on weekends.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, consider cycling to Daugavas loki. From Daugavpils, take the A6 highway north towards Rēzekne, then turn off onto the road towards Naujene. The total distance is about 30 kilometers. The route is scenic, but be cautious of traffic. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations. Once you reach Vecpils, you can park your bicycle in designated areas near the scenic spot.
