Our Lady of Zahle and the Beqaa is a prominent Marian shrine located in Zahlé, Lebanon, in the heart of the Bekaa Valley. In 1958, Bishop Euthym, driven by his devotion to the Virgin Mary, initiated the construction of this shrine on a hill overlooking Zahlé and the valley. The shrine is crowned by a 10-meter high bronze statue of the Virgin Mary, created by Italian artist Pierroti, which rests atop a 54-meter high tower on Tel Chiha hill. Work on the shrine was delayed due to the Lebanese Civil War, but it was finally inaugurated in May 2005 after extensive restoration. Visitors can take an elevator to a viewing platform that offers panoramic views of the red-roofed city and the expansive valley. The tower's base includes a small chapel with seating for approximately 100 people. Our Lady of Zahle stands as a testament to Lebanon's religious and cultural heritage.
