Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the center of Deir el Qamar, near the historic Palace of Fakhreddine. Head northwest on the main street (Beirut Street) towards the village of Aatrine. Follow the signs to Aatrine, keeping the village on your right. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will reach Aatrine. Once in Aatrine, ask locals for directions to the FaJaGhaSa Cave, as it is a well-known spot among the residents. Continue on foot towards the outskirts of Aatrine, following any paths or trails that lead towards the hillside where the cave is located. The cave coordinates are approximately 33.664628 latitude and 35.5818733 longitude. Expect a short hike uphill to reach the cave entrance.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Deir el Qamar. Begin at the center of the village, cycling north on Beirut Street towards Aatrine. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Upon entering Aatrine, follow the main road and look for signs leading to the cave. As you approach the outskirts of the village, you may need to park your bicycle and walk the remaining distance, which will be about a 10-minute hike uphill to the cave. Locals can provide additional guidance if needed.

• Hiking

  For those who enjoy hiking, you can start your trek from the main square in Deir el Qamar. Take the scenic trails that lead towards the hills in the direction of Aatrine. This hike will take approximately 1 hour and will reward you with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. As you approach Aatrine, look for paths that veer off towards the hillside where FaJaGhaSa Cave is located. The last part will involve some climbing, but it is manageable.
