Public Transport

From Keserwan, take a local bus towards Jounieh along the coastal route. Alight at the station closest to Sea Side Road. From there, either walk approximately 1 km or take a local taxi for around 5,000 LBP to reach the Teleferique du Liban.

Taxi

From anywhere in Jounieh, taxis are readily available. Simply instruct the driver to take you to 'Teleferique du Liban' on Sea Side Road. Confirm the fare beforehand, but expect to pay around 10,000 to 20,000 LBP depending on your starting location.

Car

From Keserwan District, head towards the main road leading to Sea Side Road (Corniche de Jounieh). Follow Sea Side Road for approximately 15 km; the Teleferique du Liban will be on your right. Parking is available near the entrance.

The Teleferique du Liban, an iconic bicable gondola lift system, offers a memorable journey from the coast of Jounieh to the mountain of Harissa, home to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon. Founded in 1965 by the Boulos family, the Teleferique was inspired by European alpine cable cars and designed to make the pilgrimage site more accessible.The ride begins on Sea Side Road in Jounieh, ascending over the highway and lush landscapes. The 1.5 km journey takes approximately 9 minutes, transporting passengers to an altitude of 650 meters. From the top, enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, Jounieh Bay, and the surrounding mountains, extending as far as Beirut on a clear day.At the summit, visit the 15-ton bronze statue of the Virgin Mary at the Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, a significant pilgrimage site. Explore the chapel, church, and basilica, and stroll through the landscaped gardens. For those seeking more adventure, hiking trails and paragliding opportunities are available nearby. The Teleferique is more than just a ride; it's a cultural experience and a testament to Lebanese ingenuity.
