Musée Henry BB is a unique museum born from the passion of Henry Loussian, a Lebanese collector, painter, and designer, to preserve Beirut's architectural heritage. Loussian, deeply moved by the demolition of Beirut's traditional houses, began collecting architectural elements, furniture, and photographs from these disappearing homes. Over 14 years, he salvaged pieces from over 100 houses, incorporating them into his own traditional-style home in Koubba, near Batroun. The museum is a three-story house that blends elements from demolished Beirut homes, including traditional arches, windows, tiles, and cedar wood. The museum features 77 arched windows, a signature element of traditional Beirut architecture. Loussian even recreated ceiling paintings himself, learning the art to faithfully replicate those he admired in old Beirut homes.Stepping into Musée Henry BB is like stepping back in time, offering visitors a glimpse into Beirut's rich architectural past. The museum is a tribute to the beauty and history of Beirut's heritage, with each room telling a story.
