Founded in 1965 by the Boulos family, the Teleferique was inspired by European alpine cable cars and designed to provide easy access to the Our Lady of Lebanon shrine, a significant pilgrimage site.
The ride begins on Sea Side Road in Jounieh, ascending over the coastal highway and verdant hillsides. As you ascend, prepare to be captivated by the stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, Jounieh Bay, and the sprawling cityscape extending towards Beirut. The nine-minute journey covers 1.5 kilometers, transporting passengers to an altitude of 650 meters.
