Discover more about Domaine des Tourelles

Domaine des Tourelles, a beacon of Lebanese winemaking, has been crafting wines and spirits in the Bekaa Valley since 1868. Founded by French adventurer François-Eugène Brun, it was the first commercial cellar in Lebanon to produce wines, arak and other spirits. The winery remained under the Brun family's stewardship until 2003 when the Issa and Issa el-Khoury families joined forces to preserve its legacy. Today, the estate is managed by the next generation, blending tradition with modern sustainable practices. Located in Chtaura, the heart of the Bekaa Valley, Domaine des Tourelles benefits from a unique terroir. The valley's high altitude, nestled between the Mount Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountain ranges, ensures warm, dry summers and cool nights, ideal for grape ripening. The soil, a mix of limestone and clay, provides excellent drainage and contributes to the complexity of the wines. Domaine des Tourelles cultivates its vineyards organically and dry-farms some of the oldest vines in the valley. A visit to Domaine des Tourelles offers an immersive experience into the world of Lebanese winemaking. Guests can tour the 155-year-old winery, explore the magnificent cellars, and witness the traditional distillery of Arak Brun, complete with its aging room filled with old clay jars. Wine tours and tastings are available, providing an opportunity to sample the estate's diverse collection of wines and spirits. The tasting sessions often take place in the winery's private gardens, offering a relaxing and memorable experience.
