Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Mohale's Hoek, near the Mohale's Hoek Market. Head southeast on Main Street (A2) for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with the road towards Teya-Teyaneng. Turn left onto the road heading east and continue for approximately 3 km. You will pass through a small village. Keep an eye out for local signage pointing towards the Makhaleng Bridge. After about 3 km, you will reach a fork. Take the right fork and continue straight for another 1.5 km until you reach the Makhaleng Bridge.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Mohale's Hoek Market and cycle southeast on Main Street (A2). After about 1 km, turn left towards Teya-Teyaneng. The road is mostly flat and suitable for cycling. Continue for about 3 km, passing through the village. At the fork, take the right and cycle for another 1.5 km until you arrive at Makhaleng Bridge. Ensure you follow local traffic rules and be cautious of pedestrians.

    You can take a local taxi (commonly referred to as a 'taxi' or 'kombie') from the main taxi rank in Mohale's Hoek. Ask the driver to take you to the Makhaleng Bridge or the nearby village of Teya-Teyaneng. The fare is usually very affordable. Once you reach near the bridge, you may need to walk the final 500 meters if the taxi cannot take you directly to the bridge. Just follow the local signs or ask for directions from locals.
