Bad Ragaz: A Swiss Spa Town Oasis

Bad Ragaz, located in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley at the foot of the Pizol, has a rich history as a health spa, drawing visitors for centuries. Initially, access to the springs in the Tamina Gorge was challenging, with early visitors lowered by rope into the narrow chasm. Today, Bad Ragaz is a wellness destination with top-tier hotels, thermal baths, and golf courses. The Tamina Therme, established in 1872, was the first indoor thermal water pool in Europe. It offers a variety of pools, saunas, and treatment options. Visitors can explore the Tamina Gorge, hike scenic alpine paths, and enjoy fine dining. The area also offers various outdoor activities, including hiking on Mount Pizol and exploring the Heidiland region, made famous by the Heidi stories.
