The Sassweg hiking trail is a must-experience attraction in Malbun, Liechtenstein, known for its accessibility and panoramic vistas. This well-maintained, circular hiking route is popular in both summer and winter, providing a gentle uphill trek suitable for various fitness levels.Starting near the Friedenskapelle (Peace Chapel), the highest church in Liechtenstein, the trail meanders through light forests, offering picturesque views of the valley below. As you ascend, the landscape opens up to reveal stunning alpine meadows and rolling hills. The path leads to Sassförkle, the highest point of the trail, providing breathtaking views of Augstenberg and the snow-covered landscapes around Malbun.Approximately halfway, a fork in the path leads to a viewpoint with binoculars and a barbecue area, perfect for a scenic break. The route continues past the Sass-Seeli pond before gently descending through Alp Sass, eventually leading back to the Schneeflucht lift and the center of Malbun. The trail is also part of the Malbun Explorer's Path, which features ten stations designed to help children discover nature.
