Car
If you are driving to Ūlos akis, start by navigating to Marcinkonys village in Dzukija National Park. From Varėna, take the A4 road towards Alytus. After about 20 km, take the exit towards Marcinkonys. Continue on the road until you reach the village. Once in Marcinkonys, look for signs directing you to Ūlos akis. There is a designated parking area near the site. Note that there may be a small parking fee of around €2.
Public Transportation
To reach Ūlos akis using public transport, take a bus from Vilnius or Kaunas to Varėna. From Varėna, you can catch a local bus heading to Marcinkonys. Check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited. Once in Marcinkonys, you can either walk to Ūlos akis, which is about a 4 km hike, or arrange for a local taxi which may cost around €10-€15. Be sure to confirm taxi availability ahead of time.
Walking
If you are already in Marcinkonys, you can walk to Ūlos akis. Begin at the center of Marcinkonys and head northwest on the main road. Follow the signs towards Ūlos akis for approximately 4 km. The path is fairly well-marked, and you will enjoy the beautiful forest scenery along the way. The walk should take about 1 hour, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
