If you're further from Jackson Square or simply want to experience New Orleans' streetcars, head to the nearest streetcar stop on Canal Street. Board the streetcar heading towards the Riverfront and get off at the 'Jackson' stop. From there, walk two blocks south to reach Jackson Square. The streetcar fare is $1.25 per ride, so make sure to have exact change ready.
