Travel Guide to Schleuse Wellen-Grevenmacher

Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Grevenmacher city center, near the main square. Head east on Rue de la Gare towards the Moselle River. Continue straight until you reach the riverside promenade. Once you reach the promenade, turn left and follow it along the river. Keep walking along the Moselle for about 2.5 kilometers. You will pass by scenic views of the river and vineyards. After approximately 30-35 minutes of walking, you will reach the Schleuse Wellen-Grevenmacher, which is located on the opposite side of the river. Please note that this is a lock facility, so you may want to check the schedule for any boat activity.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Grevenmacher. Start your journey from the bike rental location and head towards the Moselle River. Follow the same route as walking: head east on Rue de la Gare, then left onto the riverside promenade. Biking along the river, you will cover the 2.5 kilometers in about 10-15 minutes. Upon arriving at the Schleuse Wellen-Grevenmacher, you can park your bike in the designated area near the lock.

• Public Transport

  While there are no direct public transport options to Schleuse Wellen-Grevenmacher, you can take a bus from Grevenmacher to Wellen. Start at the main bus station in Grevenmacher and check for bus schedules heading towards Wellen. The journey may take approximately 20-30 minutes. After arriving at Wellen, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the Schleuse. Simply head south towards the Moselle River and follow the riverbank until you arrive at the lock.
