Getting There
Walking
From the center of Antsiranana (Diego Suarez), start at Place de la République. Head northeast on Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Université. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Université and proceed for another 1 kilometer. You will pass by local shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for direction signs towards 'Baie d'Émeraude'. After reaching the coast, follow the path leading to Baie d'Émeraude. The beach is known for its stunning views and is a popular spot for tourists.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Antsiranana. Start at Avenue de l'Indépendance and head northeast. Continue on this road for approximately 2 kilometers, then turn left onto Avenue de l'Université. After another kilometer, you will arrive at the coastal path leading to Baie d'Émeraude. Make sure to enjoy the scenery along the way and take breaks as needed. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed.
Public Transport (Taxi-Brousse)
Head to the main taxi-brousse station in Antsiranana, located near the city center. Look for a vehicle heading towards 'Baie d'Émeraude' or ask the drivers for the right direction. The taxi-brousse will drop you off at the nearest point to Baie d'Émeraude. From there, you can walk approximately 500 meters to reach the beach. The total journey may take around 30-40 minutes depending on wait times and traffic.
