Walking
From the center of Fianarantsoa, head towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Rue de la Liberté. Turn left onto Rue de la Liberté and walk until you reach the bus station (Gare Routière). From there, look for a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) heading to Ambalavao. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to Ambalavao. The journey should take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Ambalavao, ask locals for directions to Lot III H 50, where the Bureau du Parc National Andringitra is located. It should be a short walk from the main road.
Taxi-brousse
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi-brousse directly from Fianarantsoa to Ambalavao. Head to the Gare Routière in Fianarantsoa and look for the taxi-brousse heading to Ambalavao. The fare is usually reasonable, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Ambalavao, follow the main road until you spot Lot III H 50. It is advisable to ask a local or the taxi-brousse driver for the exact location of the Bureau du Parc National Andringitra.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Fianarantsoa. Start at the town center and head towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Follow this road straight until you reach the junction with Rue de la Liberté, then turn left. Continue cycling until you reach the bus station (Gare Routière) where you can find taxi-brousses heading to Ambalavao. After boarding, enjoy the scenic ride to Ambalavao.
