Trekking
From any location in Anketrabe, start by heading towards the main road that leads out of the neighborhood. Look for signs or ask locals for directions to Analalava. Once you reach the main road, continue walking for about 5 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and houses, so feel free to ask for directions if you’re unsure. After approximately 5 kilometers, you should see a sign indicating the direction to Maningoza Reserve. Follow the sign; it will lead you onto a smaller path that winds through some local farmland. This last stretch is about 2 kilometers, and you may encounter some uneven terrain, so wear appropriate footwear.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop in Anketrabe. Once you have your bike, head toward the main road connecting to Analalava. The journey should take about 20 minutes, depending on your speed. Once on the main road, continue for around 5 kilometers, and then follow the sign for Maningoza Reserve onto the smaller path. The bike ride will give you a great opportunity to enjoy the surrounding countryside and local scenery. Be cautious of traffic and be aware that some parts of the path can be rough.
Walking Taxi
Another option is to hire a local walking taxi (a guide who will walk with you). You can find them in Anketrabe, and they usually charge a fee of around 10,000 MGA for the trip to Maningoza Reserve. The guide will not only help you navigate but can also provide insights about the local culture and environment. Be sure to agree on the price before starting your journey. The walking taxi will take you along the same route as mentioned earlier, ensuring you reach the reserve safely.
