Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From the center of Majunga, head south on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Boulevard de l'Indépendance. Continue straight until you reach Rue de la Liberté, then turn left. Follow Rue de la Liberté until you reach the beach, where you will find bike rentals. After renting a bicycle, head east along the coast on Avenue des Etats Unis until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale 4. Turn left and continue straight until you see signs for CIRQUE ROUGE. The entrance is approximately 10 kilometers from this point.

  • Walking

    Start from the central marketplace in Majunga. Walk west along Avenue de l'Indépendance until you reach the beach promenade. Continue along the promenade until you reach the end of the beach. From there, follow the signs that lead to CIRQUE ROUGE, which is approximately a 5-kilometer walk from the beach area. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

  • Public Transport

    From Majunga's central bus station, take a bush taxi (taxi-brousse) heading towards Antananarivo. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to be dropped off at the nearest point to CIRQUE ROUGE. The bush taxi will take you along Route Nationale 4. After about 30 minutes, ask the driver to drop you off near the sign for CIRQUE ROUGE. From there, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach the entrance.
