Getting There

Car
From Ranomafana National Park, head northwest on Route Nationale 25 (RN25) towards Fianarantsoa. Continue for about 60 km until you reach the town of Fianarantsoa. From Fianarantsoa, switch to Route Nationale 7 (RN7) heading northeast towards Antananarivo. After approximately 90 km, take a left turn onto Route Nationale 2 (RN2) towards Toamasina. Travel about 100 km until you reach the town of Andasibe. Here, you will need to switch to a local taxi-brousse (shared minibus) heading towards Maroantsetra, a coastal town near Masoala National Park. The taxi-brousse ride may take around 6-8 hours and costs approximately 20,000 Ariary ($5). Once in Maroantsetra, you can arrange a boat transfer to Masoala National Park, which will cost around 100,000 Ariary ($25) and takes about 1.5 hours.

Public Transportation
From Ranomafana National Park, take a local taxi-brousse to Fianarantsoa, which will cost around 10,000 Ariary ($2.50) and take approximately 1-2 hours. Once in Fianarantsoa, board a taxi-brousse heading to Toamasina via RN7. This leg of the journey will cost around 20,000 Ariary ($5) and take approximately 4-5 hours. After arriving in Toamasina, switch to another taxi-brousse to Maroantsetra, costing about 25,000 Ariary ($6.25) and taking around 5-6 hours. Finally, in Maroantsetra, hire a boat to Masoala National Park for about 100,000 Ariary ($25) and a travel time of 1.5 hours.
