Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Toamasina (Place de l'Indépendance), head southeast on Rue de l'Indépendance towards Rue de la République. Continue straight for about 1.2 km until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Université. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Université and walk for another 500 meters until you reach the coast. At this point, you should be able to see the waterfront area known as Front de Mer. Be sure to enjoy the views along the way!

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can start from the Toamasina Market. Head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance for about 800 meters, then turn right onto Avenue de la République. Continue cycling straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Université. Turn left here and keep going for approximately 1 km until you arrive at Front de Mer. This route is slightly longer but provides a nice breeze along the coast.

  • Public Transport (Taxi Be)

    Head to the nearest Taxi Be stop, which can be found near the central market. Take a Taxi Be heading towards the coastal area. Inform the driver that you want to go to Front de Mer. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Front de Mer, and you can walk the remaining distance to the waterfront.
