Walking
From the center of Brunswick, head southeast on Maine Street toward Park Row. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Pleasant Street. Turn left onto Pleasant Street and follow it until you reach the stop for the Portland METRO bus at the corner of Pleasant St and Maine St. Board the METRO bus Route 1 towards Portland. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, and disembark at the 'Congress St + Monument Square' stop. From there, you will be just a short walk to Monument Square at 456 Congress St.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Brunswick. Begin by heading down Maine Street toward the Androscoggin River. Follow the bike paths along the river until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Take a left onto Route 1 and follow it until you arrive in Portland. Once in Portland, navigate to Congress Street, where Monument Square is located. Look for bike lanes to ensure a safe ride.
Public Transit
Take the METRO bus from the Brunswick Visitor Center stop, located at 16 Station Ave. Board the METRO Route 1 bus towards Portland. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Congress St + Monument Square bus stop, you will be right at the entrance of Monument Square. Be sure to check the bus schedules for the return trip to Brunswick.
