Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ogunquit, head northeast on Main Street towards Shore Road. Continue on Shore Road until you reach the Ogunquit Beach area. Once at the beach, follow the sandy path that leads towards the north end of the beach where it transitions to a more rugged coastal path. Follow this path along the coast until you reach the Ogunquit River. At the river, you will see signs directing you to the Marginal Way. Follow the Marginal Way pathway as it leads you toward the Perkins Cove area. Once you reach Perkins Cove, look for the trolley stop. Take the trolley heading to the Portsmouth area. The trolley will take you across the state line into New Hampshire. Once you arrive in Portsmouth, get off at the stop near the waterfront area. Peirce Island is located just a short walk from the trolley stop. Head east towards the waterfront and follow the signs to Peirce Island.

Public Transportation
Start at the Ogunquit Beach trolley station. Take the trolley towards Wells. Ride until you reach the Wells transfer station. From there, switch to the bus heading toward Portsmouth, NH. Once you arrive in Portsmouth, get off at the Market Square stop. From Market Square, head towards the waterfront area and follow the signs to Peirce Island. It's about a 15-minute walk from the Market Square, heading east towards the water.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Ogunquit Village Center. Head toward Shore Road and follow the designated bike lanes. Continue along Shore Road until you reach the Ogunquit Beach area. At the north end of the beach, transition onto the coastal path that leads to the Ogunquit River. Follow the river until you see the signs for the Marginal Way and continue biking along this scenic path. You will eventually reach Perkins Cove. From Perkins Cove, you can ride towards downtown Portsmouth. Follow the road signs that indicate the direction to Peirce Island. It's approximately a 30-minute bike ride from Perkins Cove to Peirce Island.
