From Sugarloaf Mountain, head southeast on Base Road toward Route 27. Turn right onto Route 27 South and continue for approximately 15 miles. Merge onto ME-2 East toward Bethel. After about 9 miles, turn right onto Mine Road. Follow Mine Road for about 2 miles until you reach Wheeler Mica Mines, which will be on your left. Parking is available on-site.

Start at Sugarloaf Mountain and take the Sugarloaf Shuttle to the nearest bus stop on Route 27. From there, catch the Bethel bus (check the local schedule for times) towards Bethel. Once in Bethel, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Mine Road, as public transport does not directly service this area. Expect a fare of around $10-$20 for the taxi ride to the mines.
