Keep an eye for signs indicating Lincoln or Machias, as these are key towns along the route. Continue traveling until you reach the junction with ME-9, where you will turn onto ME-9 East. Follow ME-9 for approximately 30 miles until you reach the town of East Machias. In East Machias, turn left onto ME-191 and continue for about 5 miles until you see signs for the Maine Monument, which is located within the local park area.

Public Transportation

For those relying on public transportation, you can take the Downeast Transportation bus service which operates routes throughout Washington County. Check the local schedules for the nearest bus stop to your location. Board the bus heading to Machias and ask the driver to let you know when you reach East Machias. Upon arrival, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the Maine Monument.
