Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from downtown Waterville at Main Street. Head north on Main Street towards the intersection with Water Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with US-201. Once there, turn right onto US-201. Follow US-201 for about 1.5 miles. You will see signs for Fort Halifax State Historic Site on your left. The entrance is just off the main road.

    Begin your journey at the Waterville City Hall. Head north on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Water Street. Turn right onto Water Street and continue until you reach US-201. Turn left onto US-201 and bike north for approximately 1.5 miles. Watch for the sign for Fort Halifax State Historic Site on your left side. The site has bike racks available for parking.

    From Waterville Transit Center, take the bus heading towards Winslow. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop closest to US-201. Once you get off the bus, walk south along US-201 for about 0.5 miles. You will see the entrance to Fort Halifax State Historic Site on your right.
