Walking
From the center of Mangochi, start at the Mangochi Market. Head south on the main road, known as the M5. Continue straight for approximately 1 km until you reach the junction with a road leading to the east. Look for the signs directing you toward G773+G8M. Turn right onto this road. Continue for about 500 meters, passing a few local shops and small houses. You will eventually see a sign indicating the direction to Mwanjati. Follow this road for another 1 km, and keep an eye out for any local guides or fellow travelers who may provide additional directions.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Mangochi. Start from the Mangochi Market and head south on the M5. It is about a 3 km ride. After 1 km, you will come across a junction; take the eastward road leading towards G773+G8M. Keep cycling for another 1-2 km until you see signage for Mwanjati. The ride is mostly flat, but be cautious of pedestrians and local traffic.
Local Transport (Boda Boda)
Find a Boda Boda (motorcycle taxi) at the designated taxi stand near Mangochi Market. Negotiate a fare to take you to Mwanjati, indicating the G773+G8M area. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to clarify the drop-off point as close to the hiking area as possible. Boda Boda drivers are familiar with the area and can take you directly there.
