Getting There

Walking
Starting from the center of Mangochi, head east on the main road (Malawi Road) towards the direction of Monkey Bay. Continue walking for approximately 7 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Monkey Bay. At this point, you will see signs for Tsano Rock. Turn left onto the road towards Monkey Bay and continue straight for about 3 kilometers. As you approach Monkey Bay, keep an eye out for local landmarks such as the Monkey Bay Port on your right. After passing the port, Tsano Rock will be on your left side, just a short walk from the main road.

Bicycle
From the center of Mangochi, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head east on Malawi Road towards Monkey Bay. The route is approximately 10 kilometers and is relatively flat, making it an enjoyable ride. Follow the road signs towards Monkey Bay. After about 7 kilometers, you will reach the intersection; turn left onto the road heading toward Monkey Bay. Continue for another 3 kilometers, and Tsano Rock will be on your left as you enter the town.

To reach Tsano Rock via public transportation, find the minibus station in the center of Mangochi. Look for a minibus heading to Monkey Bay. The fare is usually quite affordable. After boarding, inform the driver that you want to stop at Tsano Rock. The journey takes about 30 minutes, depending on the number of stops. Once you arrive in Monkey Bay, disembark near the port area. From there, Tsano Rock is just a short walk away; head west along the main road for about 500 meters, and you will see the rock formation on your left.
