Walking
Start at the Mzuzu Central Market, which is a well-known landmark. From the market, head east on the main road (Chibambo Road). After about 500 meters, you will reach the intersection with Chimaliro Road. Turn left onto Chimaliro Road. Continue walking for approximately 1 kilometer until you see the sign for Ilala Crest Lodge on your right at G2XJ+MMV.
Bicycle Taxi (Kabaza)
Locate a bicycle taxi (local term 'kabaza') at any nearby point such as the Mzuzu Central Market. Make sure to inform the cyclist that you want to go to Ilala Crest Lodge on Chimaliro Road. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views as the cyclist navigates through the streets. You’ll arrive at the lodge, which will be on your right side.
Local Minibus
Take a local minibus from the Mzuzu bus station heading towards Chimaliro. Ask the conductor to let you know when you reach Chimaliro Road. Once you get off, walk about 200 meters back towards the direction you came from, and you will find Ilala Crest Lodge on your left.
