Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the Taman Negara National Park entrance, which is located in Kuala Tahan. From Kuala Tahan, take the main road leading to the park. Once you arrive at the park, proceed to the visitor center to obtain the necessary permits and information about your journey to Bumbun Tabing. After that, follow the park's designated trails. It's advisable to use a 4WD vehicle as some areas can be rough. There are parking facilities available near the visitor center.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Taman Negara National Park via public transportation, take a bus from Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut. The bus journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. From Jerantut, you will need to take a taxi or a local minivan to Kuala Tahan, which is the gateway to Taman Negara. Once in Kuala Tahan, visit the visitor center to get your permits. From there, you'll need to trek or arrange for a local guide to take you to Bumbun Tabing, as there are no direct public transport options available within the park.

• Boat

  After reaching Kuala Tahan, if you prefer a more scenic route, consider taking a boat ride on the Tembeling River to access different areas of the park. You can hire a boat from local operators near the visitor center. This boat ride will give you a unique view of the surrounding rainforest. Make sure to arrange your trip in advance and confirm prices with the boat operators, as costs can vary.

• Trekking

  Once you are in Taman Negara, the most common way to reach Bumbun Tabing is by trekking through the forest. Ensure you have a good map or hire a local guide if you're unfamiliar with the trails. The trek can be challenging, so wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water and snacks for the journey. Follow signs for Bumbun Tabing, ensuring you stay on designated paths for safety and to protect the environment.
