Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and easily accessible on foot from many points in the city. From the Malé Fish Market, walk west along Marine Drive (Boduthakurufaanu Magu). The square will be on your left, approximately a 5-10 minute walk. No costs involved.
Public Transport
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) operates bus routes throughout Malé. Several bus stops are near Republic Square. Check local bus schedules for the most convenient route. Bus fares start at MVR 3. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the square.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Malé. A short taxi ride to Republic Square from any point in the city typically costs MVR 20. Fares may increase to MVR 30 after 11:00 PM. You may be charged an extra MVR 10 for trunk usage if you have luggage.
