From Velana International Airport (MLE), take the public ferry to Malé. Ferries run every 15-30 minutes and cost approximately 15 MVR (about $1 USD). From the Malé ferry terminal, transfer to the Maafushi ferry. Public ferries to Maafushi cost around 22 MVR (about $1.50 USD) and take approximately 90 minutes. Note that public ferries typically do not operate on Fridays. Check the latest schedules as they can vary. Alternatively, book a speedboat transfer in advance, which costs $25-$40 USD and takes 45 minutes.
