    Getting There

    Walking

    Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and easily accessible on foot from many points in the city. From the Malé Fish Market, walk north along Boduthakurufaanu Magu for about 5 minutes. The square will be on your left, marked by the large Maldivian flag. No costs are involved.

    Public Transport

    The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) operates bus routes that stop near Republic Square. Bus lines 403, 404, 101, 401, and 402 all have stops within a few minutes' walk of the square. From the bus stop, follow the signs or ask for directions to the large flag. Bus fares start from MVR 3.

    Taxi

    Taxis are readily available throughout Malé. A short taxi ride to Republic Square from any point within the city typically costs MVR 30. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Taxis may charge an extra MVR 10 for luggage.
