Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and easily accessible on foot from many points in the city. From the Hulhumale Ferry Terminal, walk north along Boduthakurufaanu Magu for about 1 kilometer. The square will be on your left. The walk takes about 10-15 minutes.
Public Transport
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) operates bus routes within Malé. Take a bus to the main bus station and walk a short distance to Boduthakurufaanu Magu. Republic Square is a short walk from the bus station. Bus fares start at MVR 3.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Malé. You can hail a taxi from the street or have your hotel call one for you. A short taxi ride within the city typically costs around MVR 20-50. Ensure the driver uses the meter or agree on the fare before starting your trip.
