Seaplane
The only way to reach the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa from Malé is via seaplane. Upon arrival at Velana International Airport (MLE), a resort representative will greet you and escort you to the Trans Maldivian Airways counter. From there, a JW Marriott van will transport you to the seaplane terminal, a short 10-minute ride. The seaplane transfer to the resort takes approximately 50-55 minutes. As of July 2025, the roundtrip seaplane transfer costs are approximately USD 600 per adult and USD 360 per child (ages 2-11). Infants under 2 years old travel free if seated on an adult's lap. These charges are booked by the resort and added to your bill. Baggage allowance is 25 kg per passenger, including 20 kg for check-in and 5 kg for hand luggage; excess baggage is charged at USD 5 per kg. Seaplane transfers operate only during daylight hours (6:00 am to 3:30 pm), so guests arriving after 3:00 pm may need to stay overnight in Malé.
