Thoddu Beach: A Slice of Paradise
Discover Thoddoo Beach: Pristine sands, turquoise waters, and authentic Maldivian culture on a lush, agricultural island paradise.
Thoddu Beach is a stunning stretch of coastline on Thoddoo Island, a local island in the Alif Alif Atoll of the Maldives. Thoddoo distinguishes itself from many other Maldivian islands through its thriving agricultural industry, most notably its production of watermelons, papayas, and other fresh produce. The beach itself boasts fine, white sand and clear, turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. The island has two designated bikini beaches where tourists can wear swimwear. The larger of the two beaches is located on the western side of the island and is known for its magical sunsets. The smaller beach is located in the northeast and is typically less crowded. Both beaches offer trees for shade, and some sunbeds and hammocks are available. Beyond the beaches, Thoddoo offers a glimpse into local Maldivian life. Visitors can explore the island's fruit plantations, wander through the village streets, and sample traditional Maldivian cuisine at local cafes. Snorkeling enthusiasts will appreciate the vibrant coral reefs surrounding the island, home to diverse marine life, including colorful fish and sea turtles.
