A pre-booked speedboat transfer will usually have a representative meet you at the airport to escort you to the boat. The speedboat journey takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Typical cost: $35 - $50 per person, one way. Private speedboats can also be arranged, costing around $650 - $700 per boat.
Public Ferry
A more budget-friendly option is the public ferry, though it involves a longer travel time and potential transfer. First, take the public ferry from the airport to Male. From Male, take the MTCC ferry to Thoddoo, which may include a stopover at Rasdhoo. Check the MTCC website for the latest schedules, as they can be subject to change. The ferry from Male to Rasdhoo takes approximately 3 hours, and the ferry from Rasdhoo to Thoddoo takes around 1.5 hours. Typical cost: Approximately $4 USD from Male to Rasdhoo, and another $3 USD from Rasdhoo to Thoddoo. Be aware that the entire journey can take a full day.
