Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the Sliema Ferries terminal, which is a central point in Sliema. Head south along the promenade towards the direction of Valletta. Continue walking along the promenade until you reach the Tigne Point area. At the end of the promenade, take the stairs up to the road. Once on the road, turn left and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Triq Il-Mediterran, which will lead you directly to Valletta. Continue walking for about 20 minutes until you reach the entrance of Valletta. Once inside Valletta, follow the signs towards Fort St. Elmo, which is located at the western tip of the city. The address is Mediterranean Street, St. Elmo Place.

  • Bus

    From Sliema, head to the nearest bus stop located on the promenade. Look for buses heading to Valletta; routes 13, 14, and 16 are common options. Board the bus and enjoy a short ride (approximately 15-20 minutes). Once you arrive at the Valletta bus terminal, exit the bus and follow the signs to the city center. Walk straight towards the main entrance of Valletta and then proceed to Fort St. Elmo, which is located at Mediterranean Street, St. Elmo Place. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal.

    From Sliema, make your way to the Sliema Ferries terminal. Take the ferry to Valletta, which provides a scenic view of the harbor. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at the Valletta Ferry terminal, exit and follow the signs towards the city center. Walk straight and follow the pathway leading to the entrance of Valletta. Continue walking until you reach Fort St. Elmo, located at Mediterranean Street, St. Elmo Place, which is about a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal.
