Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Xewkija Square, which is easily recognizable by the beautiful church in the center. From the square, head southwest on Triq il-Knisja. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Triq tal-Knisja. Follow this road for about 10 minutes, passing by several local shops and cafes. You will eventually reach a junction; keep straight on Triq il-Lunzjata. After about 5 more minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Xerri's Grotto on your left. The entrance to the grotto is down a small path, so follow the signs to reach the grotto's entrance.

    If you prefer to take public transport, head to the nearest bus stop in Xewkija, which is located at the main square. Look for the bus routes heading towards Xaghra. Board the bus and remain on it for approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Xaghra.' From the bus stop, walk down Triq il-Lunzjata, which is the main road leading towards the grotto. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes until you see the sign for Xerri's Grotto on your right. Follow the path leading to the entrance.
