From the Maryland State House, head northwest on State Circle toward Main Street. Continue onto Main Street and after a few blocks, turn right onto West Street. Follow West Street until you reach the intersection with Maryland Avenue. Turn left onto Maryland Avenue, which will lead you to the waterfront. Once at the waterfront, turn right and walk along the harbor until you reach the City Dock. From the City Dock, you can catch the Annapolis Water Taxi to Washington, D.C. You will disembark at the National Harbor, and from there, you can take the Metro's Green Line toward Branch Avenue. Transfer at L'Enfant Plaza to the Yellow Line toward Mount Vernon Square. Get off at the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station. From there, it is a short walk to 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC.

From the Annapolis Bus Terminal, take the 320 bus towards Washington, D.C. This bus will take you to the New Carrollton Metro Station. Once you arrive, transfer to the Orange Line toward Vienna. Change trains at L'Enfant Plaza to the Yellow Line toward Mount Vernon Square. Get off at the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station. Walk north on 7th Street NW, then turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Continue walking until you reach 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC.

Once you reach the city limits, continue on bike lanes until you reach the National Mall. From the National Mall, bike along Constitution Avenue NW until you get close to the intersection with 11th Street NW.
