Bus
From Laurel, head to the nearest bus stop on Baltimore Avenue (Route 1). Catch the Metrobus 17 or 18 towards Washington D.C. You will need to transfer at the Greenbelt Metro Station to the Metro Green Line towards Branch Avenue. Ride to the King Street-Old Town Metro Station in Alexandria. Exit the station and walk east on King Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the waterfront in Old Town.
Train
Walk to the Laurel MARC train station located at 1st Street and Main Street. Take the MARC train on the Penn Line towards Union Station. Disembark at the Alexandria Amtrak station. From the station, you can walk or take the DASH bus towards Old Town. If walking, head south on South Patrick Street for about 0.6 miles until you reach King Street, then turn left to reach the waterfront in Old Town.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental service in Laurel. Follow the path along Route 1 heading south until you reach the intersection with Duke Street in Alexandria. Continue on Duke Street until you reach the waterfront in Old Town. Make sure to use bike lanes where available and be cautious of traffic.
Walking
If you are close enough, simply walk towards the nearest bus stop and take a bus towards Alexandria. Alternatively, if you are already in Old Town, you can explore the area on foot as it is pedestrian-friendly with many shops and restaurants within walking distance.
