From anywhere in Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Metro Station located at 8100 Georgia Avenue. Take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 11 stops (approximately 30 minutes) until you reach the King Street-Old Town Metro Station in Alexandria. Once you exit the train, follow the signs to the King Street exit. Upon exiting, turn right onto King Street and walk west for about 0.5 miles (approximately 10-15 minutes) until you reach Prince Street. Turn left on Prince Street, and the Athenaeum will be on your right at 201 Prince St.
Bus
From the Silver Spring Transit Center, take the Metrobus Route 1 or 13 towards Alexandria. The bus ride will take about 40-50 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the stop near King Street and then walk towards King Street. Head west on King Street for about 0.5 miles (approximately 10-15 minutes) until you reach Prince Street. Turn left on Prince Street, and you will find the Athenaeum at 201 Prince St.
Walking
If you are near the Silver Spring Civic Building, start walking towards the Silver Spring Metro Station. Once you reach the station, take the Red Line towards Glenmont.
