Car
If you're driving, start from the center of Barnstable and take MA-28 North. Follow MA-28 until you reach the intersection with MA-6 East. Merge onto MA-6 East and continue for about 12 miles. Take exit 2 for MA-3 South toward Sagamore. Continue on MA-3 South for about 6 miles, then take exit 1 toward Sagamore Beach. Once you exit, follow the signs to Scusset Beach, located on Unnamed Road. The parking lot is available at the beach entrance, and parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the CapeFLYER train from Boston to Hyannis. From Hyannis, you can catch the Barnstable Bus service (Route 6) towards Sagamore. Get off at the closest stop to Scusset Beach. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited, especially on weekends. From the bus stop, it will be a short walk to the beach entrance.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider biking to Scusset Beach. Barnstable County has scenic bike paths. Start from Barnstable Village and follow the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which connects to various routes leading to Sagamore Beach. Be prepared for some road biking along MA-6, and ensure you have a helmet and safety gear. This route is approximately 12 miles and takes about an hour, depending on your pace.
