Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of any town in the Berkshires. Navigate to Route 7 and head north until you reach the junction with Route 8 in Lanesborough. Continue on Route 7 North and then turn left onto Rockwell Road (you will see signs for Mount Greylock State Reservation). Follow Rockwell Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the reservation. Be aware that there is a parking fee of $5 for Massachusetts residents and $20 for non-residents.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, first take a bus to Pittsfield. From Pittsfield, you can take the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) bus to Lanesborough. Once you arrive in Lanesborough, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Mount Greylock State Reservation, as there is no direct public transportation to the park. Be prepared for taxi fares to vary, but expect around $15-$30 for the short trip to the park entrance.

• Biking

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider biking to Mount Greylock State Reservation. From downtown Lanesborough, head north on Route 7 to Rockwell Road. This route is approximately 2 miles of scenic biking. Ensure you have a bike helmet and are aware of traffic rules. The road can be steep, so be prepared for a workout!

• Walking

  If you are staying in a nearby accommodation, you may choose to walk to Mount Greylock State Reservation. From Lanesborough town center, head north on Route 7 and take a left onto Rockwell Road. It is about a 2-mile walk to the park entrance. This route is not recommended for families with young children due to the busy road, but it can be a pleasant hike for those looking for some exercise before arriving at the park.
