Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Waltham, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street and board the #70 bus towards Alewife. Ride for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the Alewife Station. Here, transfer to the Alewife to South Boston bus (you may need to check the schedule for the most convenient route). Stay on this bus for about 30 minutes. Get off at the East 8th Street stop. From there, walk east for two blocks, and you will find L Street Tavern at 658 E 8th St.

• MBTA Subway

  Start at the Waltham MBTA station and take the Fitchburg Line train towards North Station. After about 25 minutes, get off at North Station. From there, follow the signs to the Orange Line subway and take the train toward Forest Hills. Alight at Haymarket Station after 2 stops. Once at Haymarket, transfer to the Silver Line bus (SL1 or SL2) heading toward South Station. Ride for approximately 15 minutes and get off at the East 8th Street stop. Walk two blocks east to reach L Street Tavern, located at 658 E 8th St.

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from a local rental shop in Waltham. Head south on Main Street towards Moody Street, then turn left onto Moody Street. Continue straight until you reach the Charles River bike path. Follow the path along the river until you reach the Boston city limits. Once in Boston, navigate towards South Boston.
