Car

Start your journey in Ouadane by heading south on Route N1. Follow this road for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through a series of desert landscapes; keep an eye out for the signs indicating the direction towards the Richat Structure. After about 30 km, you will reach the intersection where you need to turn left onto a smaller dirt road, which may not be well-marked. Continue on this road for another 30 kilometers until you reach the Richat Structure. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road driving, as the terrain can be challenging.

Public Transportation

From Ouadane, you can take a shared taxi (known locally as 'taxi-brousse') heading towards Atar. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the turn-off for the Richat Structure. This ride typically costs around 1000 MRU (Mauritanian Ouguiya). Once you reach the turn-off, you may need to negotiate with a local driver who has a 4x4 vehicle to take you to the Richat Structure. This leg of the journey will likely cost an additional 2000 to 3000 MRU, depending on the vehicle and the negotiation.
