Car
From Tagant, head northwest on Route 1 towards Chinguetti. The drive is approximately 70 kilometers and will take around 1.5 hours. Follow the signs for Chinguetti, and as you approach the town, look for signs indicating the location of Chinguetti Mosque. The mosque is located at FJ3P+WHM, which you can enter into your GPS for precise navigation.
Public Transportation
Take a local bush taxi from Tagant to Chinguetti. The bush taxis depart from the main taxi station in Tagant and typically leave when full. The fare is around 2,000 MRU (Mauritanian Ouguiya) per person. The journey takes approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive in Chinguetti, ask locals for directions to Chinguetti Mosque; it is a well-known landmark and should be easy to find.
Walking
If you are already in Chinguetti town, and the mosque is not far from your accommodation, you can walk to the mosque. From the central market area, head east towards the main road, then turn north. Follow the road for about 10-15 minutes, and you will see the mosque on your left. Be sure to ask locals for additional guidance if needed, as they can provide helpful directions.
